Fluorescein retinal angiography

Fluorescein Angiography (FA) is a diagnostic procedure that uses a special camera to record the blood flow in the RETINA – the light sensitive tissue at the back of the eye. The test does not involve any direct contact with the eyes. Your eyes will be dilated before the procedure.

Laser correction of myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism

Refractive surgery is an ophthalmological specialty that involves surgically correcting refractive defects, including myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism and presbyopia. Its objective is that patients no longer require glasses or contact lenses, thus improving their quality of life.

Surgical treatment of strabismus

Strabismus surgery (eye muscle surgery) is designed to loosen or tighten the eye muscles, depending on the affliction, which realigns the eyes into the correct position. Surgery will be completed under general anesthesia, and most often is performed as an outpatient surgery.

Surgical treatment of cataracts with lens replacement

Surgery involves removing the cloudy lens and replacing it with a plastic intraocular lens (IOL). Both steps are generally done at the same time, although the implant can be placed later. Standard monofocal lenses are generally used to replace the power of the lenses removed during cataract surgery.

Removal of the eyeball with the implant placement

During an evisceration, the cornea (clear, dome-shaped window at the front of the eye) and the contents of the eye are removed. The white part of the eye (the scleral shell) and the eye muscles are left intact. The implant is then placed into the scleral shell to which the muscles are still attached.

Optical coherence tomography

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a non-contact method for imaging the topological and internal microstructure of samples in three dimensions. OCT can be configured as a conventional microscope, an ophthalmic scanner or endoscopes and small-diameter catheters for accessing internal biological organs.
